My name is Maria. I’m from Poland. I have lived in New York for 23 years, 22 in Brooklyn.
I graduated from the University of Warsaw. I’m a mother of one grown-up son.
I remember my first experience with childcare when I was 13 years old. My mother’s friend had a baby. When they returned from the hospital, I was there every day, playing with the baby, bathing, and changing diapers. And ever since, I have been babysitting and nannying. Over time, I cared for children from newborns (including twins) to teenagers. I find working with children incredibly rewarding. I love their natural desire to grow and learn. I encourage this by sharing their experiences, reading stories, singing songs, playing games, exploring, or learning about food. In short, I love children and their inquisitive nature and being a part of their lives.
I enjoy being active (biking, skiing, swimming). I love teaching these sports to children and have done so with my own son and others. In my free time, I make my own organic cosmetics, read, cook, and shop for food (especially at farmer’s markets). I also grow vegetables and herbs.
